Katy Horan's paintings and drawings are the result of seeing too many fantasy films during her childhood along with a love of all things “folky”. She combines mystic and pagan imagery with folk art , craft and illustration aesthetics in an attempt to escape our modern and sometimes cold world. Originally from Texas, Katy has lived in 5 different cities and isn’t ready to stop moving quite yet. Since receiving her BFA in 2003, she has shown her work in New York, LA, San Francisco, Portland and Kentucky. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY….for now.
