"The Little Otsu Living Things Series is a new collection of mini art books in which different artists each explore one idea based around the theme of living things. The second volume in the series by Jo Dery is called "Pheromones: a chemical conversation" and is an exploration of how animals use pheromones differently to do things like mark territory, attract mates and even attack enemies. Jo's beautiful watercolor drawings of sea urchins and amazing line drawings of beetles meet dogs, cats, gulls and even people in this factoid-filled and often humorous book."
Living Things Series Volume 2 was printed in a limited edition of 1000. It is 16 pages. The book was printed in Oakland, CA on 100% post-consumer recycled paper using soy-based inks.
Jo has chosen Crossroads Rhode Island as her artwork's charity. Crossroads is the leading homeless service organization in Rhode Island. Founded in 1894, the organization provides 24 hour assistance 7 days a week to homeless Rhode Islanders. Crossroads works to develop programs that address both immediate and long-term needs, allowing individuals and families to, once again, become independent. $250 dollars from the sale of Jo's artwork will be donated to the organization.
